US bid to reintegrate

War is in no way a new phenomenon in the world. On the contrary it has been an integral art of the human civilization. In the words of Mao Tse-Tung “war is politics with bloodshed”. But what has the concerned nation done to its wounded soldiers as a mark of gratitude has always been shrouded in mystery. Perhaps no one is allowed even after the completion of the war to uncover answers of these eternal but silent questions. Well, this may have been the tradition but the recent American endeavor to reinstate a fresh lease of life among their severely wounded soldiers has certainly added a feather to its cap. The core issue happens to be the US Government, which is spending millions, aided by various teams of University Scientists, in the sole expectation of the growth of new skin, ears, muscles and other body tissue especially for the injured troops in Iraq and Afghanistan.

The fund of $250 million destined for the troops from the war zones with multiple traumatic injuries can be cited as the biggest project hitherto, in respect of army bid of medical treatments. All together 900 people, comprised of both men and women have been identified. Some of them have even been with amputations of some kind or another as a result of the ongoing war. There are even also soldiers with burns throughout the body, along with spinal cord injuries and vision loss. The situation is so serious that it has got the biggest government attention. At this juncture the main task, therefore, is to make these people strong enough so that they can reintegrate and start functioning.

In the entire initiative lots of acclaimed universities like Wake Forest University in North Carolina are taking part with a single objective. The chief aim is to make and expand the required therapies for repairing any form of burn, healing of wound but without any scarring, facial reconstruction and limb reconstruction or regeneration, within the period of five years.
